Bus Ride-Part 2

Dear Diary,
You know very well that I don’t write an entry unless and until something really important or interesting happened and I just share it with you. You are after all my bestie!
I honestly thought that today is going to be the worst day of my life. Because I missed my usual bus M5 that was never crowded and when I got to Adayar it was around 8:20.
I hate those crowded buses! But I didn’t have a choice this morning as I boarded the 21H that was already packed with people. I was wondering how it was going to accommodate more people since there was still a long way to go about.
I don’t remember where he boarded the bus. I was standing almost near the door and so naturally a lot of people passed money through me to purchase a ticket. At one point of time I heard a kinda gruff voice saying “One Navalur please” and he was extending a 50 rupee note to me.
In spite of the radio I was listening through my headphones, I heard the conductor’s yelling for correct change. This guy was in La La land already. I gently nudged him and asked for a two rupee coin.
It was rather amusing as I watched him balance himself and still dig out his purse to get the required money. I didn’t notice that I was smiling until I returned the ticket to him.
I noticed because he had this weird look on his face. Guess he was trying to figure out why I am smiling.
With that my smile got wider. I just couldn’t control it.
So after that I got a nice window seat right next to the door and it was such a breezy morning. I was sightseeing as usual and it never gets boring.
The next thing I know, the bus stopped with a sudden brake and I got real scared. I almost thought that we crashed into someone or ran over someone.
You know how much I hate road accidents...
That was when I saw him. I saw him starring at me. I don’t know if I can call that starring because he had this intent look fixed on me.
For some reason I didn’t feel awkward with a complete stranger watching me like that. I am not like this right! My usual reaction towards such a situation will be a scowl on my face.
But then...
I looked at him and he looked at me. we both locked eyes. Wow! It was simply awesome!
I loved the way he looked right into my eyes and nowhere else. My heart thumped a little loud that I wondered if the lady sitting next to me could hear it. I felt butterfly flutter in my stomach and at that moment I almost understood Vairamuthu’s songs! (May be I am going a little too far on this song part. But hey! I am hopeless romantic who has been single for a really long time...)
I have never felt that way before it was just too good to be true. The starting of the engine jerked us back to earth.
I almost felt a blush creep up my face and looked away. After that I don’t remember what I saw out that window or what I listened in that radio.
I just remember stealing glances at this guy who was standing right in front of me and was looking at me.
I remember that he was wearing a stripped full sleeve shirt and black formal pants. He was not wearing any ID card. I wished to know the company that he was serving.
He was sporting this 4 day old beard that suited him very well. We both were seeing each other, in a public transport among 50 other people. But we both didn’t care. I don’t know anything about him, but I didn’t care.
I hoped he would make a move and let me know something about him.
I noticed that we were nearing the Navalur stop and I was desperately praying god that he will do something. Anything at all....
I know what you are thinking now. May be I should have done something instead of waiting for him to do something. You can’t blame me. I am a girl and girls never have such guts to approach a guy much less a stranger.
For all I know he could have been married also. But I enjoyed the bus ride this morning.
When he got down in his stopping, he started walking ahead of the bus. When the bus started moving and we went past him, I saw him and he noticed me seeing him.
An involuntary smile crept up my face. He smiled in return and my smile just got wider. He grinned.
Good Lord! He looked really good with that boyish grin. I just hoped he did something heroic and got back to me.
But he never did anything. He just went his way.
I just hope I see him tomorrow as well. I am going to board the same 21H from tomorrow onwards and see if I can catch him again. If I do catch him, I will surely talk to him!
Yours dearly,
Sweety...
